Lucuma Tropical Fruit Products
Lucuma is a delicately flavored tropical fruit native to the cool highlands of South America.
It has an ovoid shape 5 to 8 cm long, and when ripe it shows a green yellowish color. Peeling its
thin skin reveals a dry and starchy orange-yellow flesh. Lucuma is an excellent source of carbohydrates,
fiber, vitamins and minerals including high concentrations of beta-carotene, niacin and iron. Lucuma pulp
is popular in drinks, puddings, pies, cookies, and cakes. Lucuma is a popular flavoring for ice cream.
Lucuma puree is made from the natural fruit of Lucuma which is carefully selected, washed, disinfected,
peeled and de-seeded and ground until smooth which is then bagged and frozen. Processing is
carried out using modern technology equipment and carefully defined parameters, looking after sanitary
conditions and the processing standards are strictly defined by Good Manufacturing Practices. It
can be used in various food applications like drinks, puddings, ice-cream, pies, cookies, and cakes.
