Acerola is a small deep-red, cherry-like fruit native to the West Indies and extensively grown and consumed in Brazil.
Acerola fruit and juice concentrates can be used in many products including ice cream, juice, soft drinks, nectar, jelly, gummy candies, fruit preserves, yogurt, and desserts. The tartness of acerola blends well with other juices such as banana, papaya, mango, and coconut water. It can also be used as a natural source of Vitamin C.
iTi offers single-strength frozen juice, 15 °brix and 20 °brix frozen acerola pureé concentrates and frozen clarified 65 °brix acerola concentrate. Single-strength frozen acerola juice has a minimum Vitamin C content of 1500mg/100g (25-times the daily value) while frozen clarified 65 °brix concentrate has a minimum of 12,000mg/100g (200-times the daily value).
